Question Horizontal purple line on screen

Like i said, i wasnt using my computer for almost 3 months as far i remember there was no line like that on my screen and this only can be view at black background any idea how to fix this ?

Try other monitor, if you have extra one.

Try connect the monitor into the iGPU, if your PC has onboard iGPU.

Try other GPU too, if you have.

well actually its a laptop so i need an egpu board to use another gpu i suppose. i am already using a second monitor and it doesnt have a problem like this only laptop screen. i realised that only black color makes this line visible for exp. at full red or blue background i dont see any line like this

If you can replace the monitor, or just use the 2nd monitor.

I've had the same problem on Alienware 17 R3 after almost 4 years. A few months later, my monitor died and I replaced it. The new one didn't have this problem but a month later it happened again. I think the screen is pressing hard on that raised line above the touchpad and below the space bar on the 17 R3 and it is causing this problem due to pressure.
