Hey I have been playing GTA V and Fallout 4 and cant help but feel that when ever I turn the camera with the mouse it gets a bit stuttery, and everything whilst turning seems out of focus, not motion blur effects, but something disorientating.

And it doesnt happen when strafing left to right using wsad, but it also happens when turning the camera using a xbox controller.

I just got a new display a Benq GL2450HM and was wondering whether it could be something to do with that, as when turning corners in fallout 4 it seems jittery and not smooth at all.

Wonder whether it may be the reading speed of my hdd.

Here is a video I captured of it:

Seems to happen on videos/films also.

Thanks for any help.

Specs:
-current gpu- msi gtx 970
-Mother board: Gigabyte b85 - hd3
-Intel core i5-4690k 3.50ghz
-8gb of ram (4 x 2)
- corsair cx750
- wd10ezex 1tb hdd

Ive got mine through HDMI does the Display port have its on port type on the monitor or does it go into hdmi

Should be up now sorry about that, slow upload speed at uni

Because you were able to capture that then I would rule the monitor out. The monitor affecting the movement would not be captured as a captur is grabbing the images as the come from the GPU not as the monitor pushes them.

That said, it could be a driver issue or a mouse setting.

Okay so its definitely not the monitor?

Also when I upgraded to a new gfx card, I had to set the default gfx processor to the onboard one in the BIOS while I got the drivers for my 970 however I havent set my BIOS to see my 970 as the default would that matter at all?

Most boards should auto detect the GPU and set it as the default display out. That should not cause this.

I would check the GPU drivers first then if it still occurs move on to the mouse settings and drivers.

firstly cheers for all the help mate, but how would I go about checking my drivers, i usually install them through Geforce Experience.

Hey man sorry for being cautious, but how would I run this in safe mode?
Ive extracted all the files for the DDU: and there are two apps, 1 called DDU v15.5.1.0 and the other called display driver uninstaller, wondering what I should do from here

* MOD EDIT * accidentally put it as solved, erm no, do you mean run windows in safemode or just the progam?

* MOD EDIT * sorry put as solved again aha, erm okay so I put my pc in safe mode and run DDU theninstall the NVidia driver I downloaded from the nvidia website, is that correct?

ahh yeah sorry man, attribute it to my lack of sleep and being a silly human being ha. [strike]Im on Windows 10 and when I tried to get into Safe mode by holding shift when clicking restart when I go on to the option that allows safe mode. my screen goes black and then stays that way and my monitor turns off due to lack of activity.
[/strike] actually never mind im being an idiot there

I Used DDU in safe mode, and then when the pc restarted I installed the Nvidia Driver however the problem is still persistent

Hey Hankthunderskull,

There is a known issue with the GTX 970 causing stuttering because of the way the card is laid out. Long story short the card has 4Gb of RAM but only 3.5Gb is "high speed". Because NVIDIA disabled a number of cores on the 970 the extra .5Gb has to go through a much slower process to be accessed.

You can try googling something like "GTX 970 Stuttering fix" and see if you can find a solution that works. Something you may want to try out is lowering your graphics settings to see if the issue still crops up. By lowering your graphics a bit it will not use enough ram to push it into the slower .5Gb section thus, in theory anyway, should alleviate this issue and you can start ticking your graphics back up until you see this issue. Good settings to avoid are any super sampling, or oversampling, or anti aliasing settings. These will increase GPU RAM use.

Anyway I hope this helps you out, and good luck!

Still happens when on low settings unfortunately so I dont think that is the cause.

However I get the visual stutter when watching films with panning movements from side to side and such.

Thank you soo much, I appreciate all the help, I will certainly name my future children after you if you are able to discern what is wrong with my pc
