my comp:

700tb
asus a7v
128mb ram
radeon 64mb

I recently installed win2k, and have noticed my quake3 performance has gone down form roughly 80fps in win98, to about 30.
I have the latest official radeon drivers, and also the newest via 4in1 drivers.
Can someone shed some light on why this is happening?

Well, Win2K is a memory hog, and Q3 also likes a lot of memory, so there's probably a lot of swapping going on when you play Q3, and thus, this would probably be the reason for the less than great performance.

Something is not right in your setup I would guess. If you were only getting 80FPS with that setup in Win98SE, you are not running things as efficiently as you could. I am getting 150FPS from Q3 under Win2k with a Duron 750@950 but with a TNT2 Ultra.

I would check your drivers. If you have the latest, uninstall them and use an older version. Also, make sure Q3 is patched to the latest version (1.27) and insure you have the Microsoft Win2k compatability drivers and the VIA 4in1 drivers installed.
