Hello, so for a long time now I've been putting up with screen tearing in most FPS games (Siege, Warzone, MINECRAFT EVEN, Wolfenstein, You name it). Obviously putting Vsync on gets rid of this, but it also caps the FPS at 60 as that's my monitor's refresh rate. This bums me out as I can get almost double the amount of FPS on certain games, but the screen tearing always makes me turn vsync on and I feel like I'm wasting my GPU/CPU's potential.
My questions are: What is causing the screen tearing? Is it my crappy monitor, or have I not set up my GPU settings correctly?
Is having much higher FPS than your monitor's refresh rate inevitably going to cause screen tearing?
Thank you in advance for any responses.
EDIT: Oh, and here is my userbenchmark.com results = https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/26122270. It says my PC is running below expectations.. Not sure what that's about :/
