Hot drow luvvin [HoTU]?

When the Valsharess offers to take you as her consort if you sell out
and open a set of city gates to allow her forces through, I can't get
it to play out so that I sell the city out.

During the period when I'm arranging the troops after that dream, I
can't do anything to the gates. They appear invulnerable.

Then, the Valsharess's army shows up and then the gates are
vulnerable. There are barrels of alchemists's fire but, nothing works
"in time". Even if I blow down the gates, the drow forces are hostile
and I can't ally with them.

Is this a bug, or, is it impossible to follow through on her (the
Valsharess') offer? I'm sure she betrays me even if I do ally with
her, but, I'd like to see how the story progresses from that point.

Err, that must be some kind of bug.. But I've never had it happen to me. The
first second you see the Valsharess' forces you should be able to take down
the gates.. and once you do, take down the second gate behind the first
ones. Then you should help kill the good guys and once you win, you should
ally with the Valsharess. Hope I helped.

I'll see if I have an older save file from before that conflict (I
have one from right before, but, it keeps happening).
