Hot metal smell coming from GPU

Hi,
I currently have a MSI Twin Frozr 1060 in my build, I think it's adequately cooled as the highest temps I've seen from it have been 70C, and running a Fire Strike Stress Test for 10 minutes the highest temp is 65C in a stuffy room. But it seems to be giving off a funny smell, almost like a heater heating up. Is that normal? Everything seems to be working fine and the only time that I can actually smell it is when I have my nose in the case or right by the exhaust fan at the back. It's been running for about 6 months at this point and working fine. I've asked several people about it to smell it and they don't consider it a burning smell, like I said before it's like a hot metal smell or a heater heating up, or even the same smell from a hairdryer. It does not have any dust in it as I clean it out regularly.

Solution
If you can still RMA it, that is definitely your best bet. If not, I would just keep an eye on your temps, and if they stay normal, I think you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
I would make absolutely certain that it is the GPU, it could be the processor, ram, or even a capacitor on your mobo going bad. If it is the GPU, I would double check every surface on the card for dust or debris. Also, remove any overclocking you might have on the GPU. Be sure to check the heatsink very carefully. If you can't find anything, it is likely something wrong with the card. This would be kind of weird for a 6 mo old card, but not unheard of.

If you still can, I would just RMA the card if it's definitely the card that's burning. If not, just make sure it is perfectly clean, along with the surrounding area of the card, and re-install it. It might even be a good idea to re-install or replace the heatsink.

First off thanks for responding to the thread. So I've tested everything and I think it is the gpu, I've taken it out and it looks like there is nothing on it that could be getting overly hot. I then ran a stress test on my cpu, fpu, cache and memory using aida64 and the hottest my cpu got was 45C and there was no smell coming from any of the hardware, and my mobo and memory were 29C and 30C. I've also looked over my mobo and it doesn't look like there are any blown capacitors on there, it all looks fine, so I think I am going to try and RMA the card, do you think that's a good idea?
