GIGABYTE GeForce2 MX AGP 32MB
LG 17" monitor
ATX 400 Watts
Drive 3"1/2 Mitsumi

Is this OK?? I´d be able to overclock it??

Thanx

Ok, I gonna change the mobo to A7V133. About the HD, for now I think it´s OK. Maybe in the future I´ll be able to change it. not enough money now!
Thanx

You think 256MB RAM w/ HD 7200rpm is better than 512MB RAM w/ 5600rpm?

yup.....(actually it depends on the app, but thats what I would do).

Your mouse moved. WINDOWS NT must restart for changes to take affect. Restart Now?[OK]

For playing games, does it makes any difference??

id personally go with the ram... i multitask quite heavily though... (10-20 internet explorers... winamp... seti... couple of words... an excel and adobe photopaint all running at the same time) so that could be my reason... i find my 320 megs lacking though no matter how much ram i have ill find a way to use it all (hello ramdisk... load all the required hdd data onto your ram... mmm... speed :) )

if in doubt blame microsoft...

Personally I'd go with the hard drive, but as mentioned, it really depends what you are doing, if you have a lot open them maybe ram is the way to go, if not, then the hdd will give you a more noticable performace increase. I have 256 of ram and the most I have open is dreamweaver, photoshop and a few browser windows plus the normal background stuff like icq/norton av. I find 256 plenty.

the rig is great, except that I'd prefer A7V133 instead of that A7V-E and a 7200 rpm hard disk in place of the 5600 one.

anyway you should be able to overclock it well enough to about 1500! of course with proper precautions and settings.

go for the a7v133, a corresponding athlon C, and DEFINATELY a 7200 rpm drive.

the hard drive is one of the major bottlenecks in your system, and you WILL see a marked difference between the 5400rpm & the 7200rpm.
i suggest you get either a 20 or 40gig IBM 60GXP. very affordable, cool running, quiet and reliable.

for an average gamer 256mb should be adequate.
512 is only needed for us nuts :)
and rams cheap enough that you can always upgrade at a latter date. far easier than upgrading a hard drive.

EDITED:
you also asked about overclocking. right.
well that 400W powersupply is a great start. lots of juice available.
many athlon processors (particularly the higher clocked ones) are being sold with their L1 bridges intact. This means that their multipliers are unlocked and its just a matter of setting the multiplier and voltage in the bios.
if your planning on increasing the FSB you will need decent quality ram.

ive got an a7v133 with kingmax PC150 sdram, and i can run my FSB at up to 154Mhz. and my processor is unlocked too :)
my 1200C runs at 9.0x154 = 1386Mhz.
very sweet

if you buy a processor which is NOT unlocked, then you will have to either live with just increasing your fSB or connect the L1 bridges yourself on the processor using a pencil/conductive pen. search the forum on how to do this.

hope this helps.
