Question How am I supposed to Initalise drives?

I just today bought a new 2TB Seagate FireCuda drive, after connecting it up, loading up Disk Management and getting the prompt to intialise disk before use, I attempt to do so, only to have my cursor indicate background processing, have everything else on my PC start to freeze, and then be given an "Access Denied" prompt after a few minutes. This is the exact same issue I had with a Samsung 250GB NVMe drive I got a while back and after posting online the only conclusion I could get to was that it was a faulty drive but now this new drive having the same issue makes me think it's not that. I am the only user on this PC, and thus an Administrator I cannot format either of the drives and both are new. I don't have access to another PC either that I could try to initialise them on. Help would be appreciated

is the message I got after a couple of minutes of it being stuck on 72% and I have no idea what it means by The operation is completed because nothing was completed, the only thing I attempted failed, and that in addition to the fact I was inundated by prompts to pay for their premium software before I even got to see that their software wouldn't work, this was pretty annoying.

I had my doubts that a third party software that essentially just does what the default program does would fare any better but I'm pretty desperate so I tried regardless, anyone else have any suggestions?

Of course 3rd party programs like that can do more than very basic MS Disk management. That SW does work, there may be something wrong with that disk.

https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/gparted_live.html that can work of USB as boot disk bypassing any problems Windows may cause.

As I stated in OP I'm having the same issue with 2 separate drives bought on separate dates different brands etc, it's unlikely that it's something wrong with the disks in the exact same manner for both

You install it on a USB stick and boot from it, it's actually on Linux.

Did your run disk management as an admin (via rt click option)?
