I was checking OS on M.2 & was surprised to see my other drives because I hadn't added the power cables. Learn something new each day. I'm new here how do I give you credit for your answer??

it is unusual for sure

I can find one example from the past. Does motherboard have Esata? looking around it seems it doesn't.

some sata cables can supply power. But they seem to have a molex connector on one end... not a normal sata cable. https://tripplite.eaton.com/products/sata-cables-and-speeds-compared

curious.

They are working fine. I can use all the software and music production for the piano. This is so strange. I have been building for about 30 years & by mistake found this & still don't understand how it's possible.
La Fong - - I meant it works just like my HDD's. They show in disk management also.

No esata on the mobo. I'm as puzzled as everyone else. The sata cables go from ssd to mobo. I was going to post pics but all they show is no ps at ssd. Strange?

I've seen this in one other instance with of all things an optical drive (I know, it's ancient) back a year or so ago when helping a friend out with their PC. I was like "no wonder this doesn't work...its got no power" but he told me it worked just fine and it did.

It's not possible. Remove the SATA data cable and tell us if you still see the SSDs.

I removed the sata data cable & they're gone. Anyway I read here yesterday that if you don't power them up they can lose data. So I powered them up & they still work fine. S0 who do I give credit to ?🤔
