[SOLVED] How bandwidth controller software works ?

Just download a software today, this software can scan your network to check who connected, limiting download and upload speed and cut someone connection. I tried to limit the download and upload speed and cut the connection to my another device and its working. Come to my mind about how this software work, they do have access to my Wifi but not in my router. So here i am asking you guys about how this thing work ?

Most of these work by spoofing the address of the router and telling the other network device that your PC is the router. Then all traffic for that other network device goes through your PC. So you can limit or disable the access.

It isn't very ethical and usually only results in a fight.
