I got a gtx660ti, 2gb memory. My cpu is an AMD phenom x4 925cpu 2.80ghz.

I played abit of bf3, but the game seems to struggle passing and holding past 60 fps, always spiking to 40-50ish. (Yes, V-synce is off =3=) Even on the lowest settings..

I know my cpu is old, but it's a handmedown from an old PC, and is an upgrade from an old dual core. My question is, is my CPU actually supposed to hold fair and is just expected from the 660ti, or should I upgrade? (Note: If I upgrade, i would want to change the mobo as well. My budget would be around 300$)

This would do Core i5 3570K. With plenty of performance, top notch overclocking capability and enough horsepower to run any game you throw at it, the choice is a no brainer.Buy a aftermarket cpu when you can afford it.
