i don't know if this is the right place but i have been wondering this

my current cpu is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116950 it get's the job done and i can run a lot of things like the witcher 3 (usually at minimum settings) but i would like to upgrade so i can play gta and stuff

what im thinking of upgrading to is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117559 and getting a water block so i can do some light overclocking, and just in case i AM getting a new motherboard along with compatible ram, also i am using a 2gb gtx 750

would this get me a good performance increase? or would it just be a slight increase.

The i7 Skylake would be a massive upgrade, you would be able to run pretty much every game on maximum settings. The only con is having to upgrade your motherboard and probably RAM.

sweet! yea the motherboard and ram thing IS a bit a downside, but the downside is lessened by the fact that my current motherboard does not have enough fan connectors for the fans in my case, while the one i'm upgrading to does.
