How big of a power supply do you really need?

I'm building a cheap gaming rig for around $700, and I'm gonna be running a HIS Radeon HD 6850 and an AMD phenom x2 black edition 555 dual core that will unlock to 3-4 cores. What's the best way to determine how big of a power supply I need? Like I said I'm on a budget, and I'll downgrade the power supply wattage to downgrade the price :sol:
Is the amount of power needed by a power supply determined by the required wattage of the GFX card combined with the required wattage of the processor? Thanks

How about this for 700$ -

I'd recommend getting a 600W PSU simply because of your plans to unlock the 555. It will automatically want more power, and I feel that playing it safe with a higher wattage PSU would be a benefit for you. Plus the upgrade factor down the road.

That benchmark testing really helped :)
