Hi There Guys :)

So, let's get right into it. My Motherboard is the MSI Z170A GAMING M5 and it says it has 2 CPU Fan Ports + 3 Case Fan Ports. That's pretty straight forward. I am going to occupy one of the CPU Fan Ports with a CPU Fan, and leave the other one empty. So My Case allows 6 Case Fans (2x120 + 4x140) and I want to have all 6 Case Fans enabled. My Power supply is good, so there is not much to that because it can handle and power all those fans including other components. For the two 120mm fans, they two will be Corsair SP120's and for the four 140mm fans, they will be the Aerocool DS140mm Red. I will leave links to both fans, the motherboard and other parts for more info. So the max amount of case mans my mobo handles is 3, which will be occupied by 3 of the AeroCool DS's, but I also need one more AeroCool DS and both of the Corsair SP120's to be powered. How can I add the remaining 3 Fans to my motherboard when the max can only handle 3? I have Three Remaining fans, how will I add them to be fully powered and working? Please let me know guys - all my trust is in you guys!!

Thanks so much guys for putting your time in for helping me :)

1. I would get better fans. These finish 1st place the Corsair SP's 16th

2. You can use this to power all your case fans off one header. Use a PWM fan header and ya can use SATA cable to power it. Use a DCV header and you'll have no problem w/ 6 of the above fans. I have run 8 off a single PCB (no SATA connector) but now use 3 PCBs w/ 6 fans (top rad), 6 fans (case fans)...

you can add splitters to the fan ports. Most motherboards can handle 2 fans on each 3pin connector just fine.

Otherwise you can get a 3pin to molex adapter but that is not a preferred solution because the fans will run at full speed all the time.

You could always get a fan controller to manually control the fans.

the remaining fans will be plugged into the power supply not the motherboard. you will need molex to fan adapters.

you can also buy a fan controller if you want to control the RPMs.

another option (not recommended) is to buy spliters and plug the fans into the motherboard

This will retain all fan speed control functions of the MoBo fan control utility and will provide PWM control of 3 pin fans. If you use PSU Molex connections, then you lose speed control. NOT recommended.
