How can i choose a default graphics card

I recently purchased a Samsung NP700Z5C-S02UB. The specs for it is below

The computer comes with a NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 640M Graphics, it also has Intel HD Graphics 4000 I'm assuming integrated graphics. I am wondering why this laptop would have two graphics cards... And if there's no valid reason I would like to use the better of the two which I'm assuming is the Nivida card. So is there a way to disable the integrated graphics card?

Install the 640M drivers, then disable the integrated Intel HD from device manager, in case that nVidia isn't the default driver.

Well I tried that and I'm not sure that it worked. How can I verify that I'm using the other graphics card?

Right click, screen resolution, advanced settings. Under adapter tab you'll find the name and version of the chip used.

Yeah I don't think it switched to my Nvidia graphics card... It says Chip Type: <unavailable>

Go to device manager and see if the nVidia GT 640 listed under displays.

It is. Both the intel HD 4000 and the nvidia GeForce 640m is listed

Ok disable the Intel HD 4000.

Okay, I disabled it and restarted my computer. But now when I go to play world of warcraft it is pretty much unplayable... So I'm thinking I'm still not running on the Nvidia card.

I'm going to re-enable it for now until I can figure something else it.
