Hi fellas,
Today I'm trying to change my GPU's thermal paste because I'm getting too high tempratures. I have never change the paste of my GTX970 so it has been like 3 years.

I have a problem because the old thermal paste is spread arround the GPU core and there are lots of tiny components over there. I don't have any type of alcohol in my home.
How can I clean this? should I just don't touch the spreaded paste and clean only top of it or should I just buy isoropil alcohol? (if I must buy it, the alcohol percentage is important?)

Solution
Wipe it off - using patience - and paper towels.
Works every time and cloths.

Do NOT try to scrape it off, as this will scratch the surface, worsening matters.

BTW: in my book replacing the cooling paste is waste of time.
Often the problem lies elsewhere like: worn out fans, dust build up, and modifications running new cables restricting the airflow.
