Hi im trying to connect an optical desktop drive to my laptop because the one i have in the laptop isnt compatible with this program and i got a hard drive enclosure and connected the drive like that to the laptop but it recognizes it as a hard drive not as a cd disk can anybody tell me what i can do so it will work or what will i need in order for the laptop to see it as a cd drive not a disk drive

Solution
so wait you got a hard drive enclosure and connected the sata cable to the cd-rom ?? lol sorry but that is funny well anyways what you need is an external cd-rom drive that connects with usb. laptops cant connect to sata based cd-roms that are made for regular computer.
or better idea is just copy the contents of the cd from regular computer to a usb stick and just plug the stick into the laptop to access the contents.
