Genuine Dell 160W Power Supply PSU For OptiPlex GX280 Small Form Factor (SFF) and Dimension 4700C Systems Part Numbers: R5953, U5427
I salvaged this sucker, and want to use it to power 2x graphics cards.
I am already powering a GT 1030 from the SATA cable from the PSU.
That's 26W continuous of the 70W the SATA connector is supposed to provide.
The PSU is not powering anything else at the moment, but I want to add a GTX 1060.
The graphics card supports 1x P6 connector, and the riser it is installed on, supports 1x P6 connector.
I am not using 5V rails, just the power supply's 12V rails and nothing else.
I realize that the PSU is only rated at 160W, and that both graphics cards under full load will use up 150W theoretical, but I measured only 141-142W under full load.
I don't know if this PSU is able to pull this load, and if I can connect 1x P6 connector cable straight from the graphics card to the 20 pin cable of the PSU?
