I have a monitor plugged in via HDMI that is 1920x1080 but Windows 10 shows that I can go up to 4k. All of my games go to 4k because of this issue. How can I fix this?

Right click an empty area of the desktop.

A menu should display that includes the GPU's control panel.

Click the Control Panel to open.

There should be some options for changing the resolution.

However, just ignore display resolutions that are not needed or otherwise not applicable.

As I indicated in my original post my concern is that every time I open a game the game gets to the highest resolution that it can which is 4k and I can't change it back. So I have to make the resolution unaccesible but how?

I tried CRU but I couldn't find resolutions bigger than 1920x1080 so I couldn't delete them. If you could link/make a guide for me I'll try it as soon as I get home.
