How can I determine what went wrong

Two days ago i bought a game on steam (Storm United)and after a long download and later a reinstall whenever i tr to start a game i get a one second pause and after that i get an error report saying the game has stopped working,how can I determine what went wrong,any specific procedures,crash dumps ,additional error reports or even simple procedures to make it at least start.I can provide the text that appears when the game crashes and a extended version found in appdata,also the crash dump files found there if necessary.

Try verifying the game cache (right click game in library, properties, local files, verify integrity of game cache). This is a usual fix for when I have problems. If this doesnt work please say, I might have a few more solutions.
