Everything would take much longer to load but run at the regular fps. I ran a chkdsk and it loads faster but now everything still needs to be opened once before it loads at regular speed. Loading the first game of dota is slow and then any game after is fast.

I assume this is a hard drive problem but I cant be sure.

There are the results of CrystalDisk. I don't understand most it, but hopefully someone can.

It may be something other than your HDD, which seems healthy. If you wanted to, you could download HDTune and check for bad sectors (although if you did have bad sectors your computer would be much slower than you say).

What are your full specs?

I tried running hd tune but it runs at between 4-14mb and someone told me if the hard drive is damaged running a full sector scan on it through hd tune could damage it further. Should I just let hd tune fully run?

Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit
Intel Core i5 3570K
8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3

GTX 660
932GB Hitachi HDS721010DLE630

thanks for any help.

It's not the prettiest curve, but in a Windows environment it's hard to tell whether the dips are at least partly the result of interference from background tasks.

A full surface scan using MHDD in DOS would be a definitive test. That should pick up any "slow" sectors.
