How Can I Fix Non-Usable RAM?

Hi everyone,

I am a beginner in pc building so I don't know what is wrong when I have 12 gb of installed RAM but Windows 7 64bit shows only 1.99gb usable. I have looked around but I haven't come across any accurate or good advice or answers. one thing that i saw was that the cpu pins might be bent and that moving the pins back in place would fix it but i want to make sure before i do anything like that. If anyone will give me some advice or help I would appreciate it! Thanks!

Oh yeah my pc build is :
x58 mobo
i7 920 cpu
and i have 6 gb of gskill ram and 6 gb of corsair ram
the gskill ram is 1600 and corsair is 1333

it detects all of it in the bios

hmm i just restored my bios and everything to defaults and now 3.99gb of ram is usable out of 12gb. okay where can i find cpu-z?

Are you sure that you install the 64 bit version and not the 32 bit one?

yeah i'm sure i installed the 64 bit version.
