Dear Hamid,

You need to download freeware Dosbox and after intallation do the following while opening Dosbox

When you will open it will show Z:\
You just drag the MSTATC.exe file to Dosbox and it will get open in dosbox and then go to #11 and change the default data path

Best of luck

You can either dual boot or run 7 in a virtual machine.

Here are a couple of guides on dual booting. The basic principal is that you create an empty partition then run the install as normal but point it to that partition. Afterwards you edit the BCD to give you a choice of the 2 on startup.

For virtual machines I use Virtualbox - https://www.virtualbox.org/
Windows 8 Pro also comes with Hyper-v. It's disabled by default but here is how to enabel - http://www.howtogeek.com/76532/how-to-install-or-enable-hyper-v-virtualization-in-windows-8/

I think virtual would suit you more. Since it's only for one program you don't want to be re-booting the computer every time you need to switch. Much rather have them running side by side.

From a quick search, it would appear that MSTAT-C is not particularly demanding of a modern computer with such low system requirements. As such, any virtual environment should prove sufficient to hold a 32 bit environment in which to run MSTAT-C. For applications which are resource dependent, Client Hyper-V provides an ideal virtual environment as a hypervisor which provides direct access to the processor and memory resources of the system (bare-metal virtualization). You can read more about what that means here in the article Client Hypervisor Technology.

A native multiboot environment, as you have described with Windows 7 installed to another partition, is also possible. Just be sure to disable Secure Boot in UEFI.

Windows XP uses a boot manager which is not compatible with Windows 8, thus the easiest solution would be to install it in a Hyper-V environment. There are instructions for managing Hyper-V, including creation of a new virtual machine, available here on TechNet.

Windows XP can also be installed in a multiboot environment, but the boot files are not compatible with Windows 8. One solution is to install Windows XP first, then when Windows 8 is installed following Windows XP, the Windows 8 boot manager will take over. There is a guide for configuring a multiboot environment with Windows 7 available here from Microsoft Support. For multiboot environments with Windows XP where Windows XP has been installed, there are instructions for repairing the Boot Configuration Database (BCD) available here, also from Microsoft Support which can manually recreate the Windows 8 compatible boot files.
