How can I make my Corsair H100i quiet?

Hey guys,

So my new H100i is overly loud and defeats the reason why I bought it, silent gaming... I can hardly hear CSGO footsteps over the sound that it makes, it's like it's a helicopter about to take off.

At the start this was fine but it is now becoming ridiculously annoying and I need a solution before I turn crazy. I've changed the fan speeds to my CPU in my BIOS but it's still just as loud?

Would I be best ordering 2x140mm Noctuas? and if so can you personally recommend the best ones?

Thanks,
Karl

Solution
H100i fits 120mm fans, not 140mm.

Also, you can get either one of these:

Noctua NF-F12 IndustrialPPC-2000
EK-Waterblocks Vardar F4-120 (I'm using 2 of these on my H100i)

Both of those give awesome cooling and very low noise.
Noctua has longer life span, but that doesn't matter because both still have over 5 years of life span (around 150'000 hours and up)

Solution

Are they silent when gaming?

I'm running them at Quiet Mode (1100-1200rpm)
With AMD FX-8350 at stock clocks.

Even on Quiet Mode, my cpu does not go over 45-50C (ambient temp 23-26C)
And the sound from my case fans are louder. The stock fans that came with the H100i were louder than the case fans even on Quiet Mode.

So:
Vardar F4 sound > NZXT Phantom 530 stock case fan sound > Corsair h100i stock fan sound

So front fans as intake.
140mm at the bottom?
The H100i at top?
Some fan at the rear as exhaust.

Would you recommended a 240 rad at the bottom or just two 120's?

It would be best to have the radiator at the top. With fans pushing the air through it as exhaust.
Have 1 or 2 fans at the bottom as intake (blowing upwards) along with the front fan as intake.
And one fan at the rear as exhaust too.
