How Can i overclock my 860k to 4.5GHz

hi im wondering can i overclock my cpu to 4.5ghz and can you help me step by step my specs are

mobo- F2A68HM-H

Cpu- amd x4 860k base at 3.7 ghz

gpu- gigabyte r9 380 4gb

ram- 4gb of kinston ram ddr3

psu- EVGA 500W

Cpu Cooler- Cooler Master evo 212

Hi David,

It's not really that simple when it comes to overclocking your CPU to high frequencies as many factors do come into play. I certainly wouldn't recommend a 4.5 GHz overclock for that chip mostly because your motherboard doesn't seem to be a brilliant overclocker as its running on an A68H chipset and doesn't have brilliant power delivery. While I'm not very familiar with that specific board, it doesn't seem to have heat sinks on the VRMs from what I've seen in pictures, hence your system will be unstable when you're increasing the voltage to achieve those high frequencies.

What do you plan on using this computer for? If it's gaming, you shouldn't have to overclock the CPU to such high frequencies as the instability of the system will outweigh the very minor (if any) performance increase in games, since most games are more GPU intensive than CPU.

yes im useing it for gaming and would the mobo go up to alest 4.2 ghz ?
