How can I retrieve my data from a HDD without a motherboard?

My vga port on my motherboard has sadly stopped working, the pc works and all, but the vga port doesn't and it is the only media port that I can connect to my monitor. My graphics card "Intel HD Graphics 6000 xD" does not have any hdmi, display-port or vga on it. The HDD storage has many important pictures and documents that I would like to retrieve, but since i can't see what i'm doing on my monitor its impossible. Plz tell me how i can retrieve my files without a motherboard.

Its actually very easy! You will need a SATA to USB adaptor kit. Simply remove the HDD and plug it into another PC or laptop. I have one of these kits myself: https://www.startech.com/uk/HDD/Adapters/USB-3-to-SATA-or-IDE-Hard-Drive-Adapter-Converter~USB3SSATAIDE

No problem, this little converter kit has everything to retrieve data from SATA HDD's AND drives with the old IDE connections. I now have a couple of old HDD's that i use for data storage. Very handy.
