How can i share my laptop internet ?

I have hp pvilion dv6 laptop.
The laptop have internet connection.

Now i put network cable connected between my laptop and my desktop pc ethernet network card in the back of the pc.

I want to have internet now in my desktop pc to get the internet from my laptop.

But on my desktop pc i have no internet access and when make troubleshooter i get one error:

"Ethernet" dosen't have a valid IP configuration - not fixed.

On your laptop - configure ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).

start>control panel>network and internet>network and sharing center>change adapter settings>hold ctrl and click ethernet and wifi, then right click ethernet, click bridge connections.
