How can I speed up my machine?

I have a UK Viglen "Integra - All-in-one" with Intel CORE i3 and running on a pre-loaded Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System. It is so slow when I am trying to go on-line can I upgrade it somehow to a CORE i7?

My set up here is Super Fast Fibre Optic Broadband with a Wi Fi Router and power line adaptors. My old Computer a "HP" worked fine on the "Wi Fi" but that had CORE i7 installed but unfortunately it was damaged when I dropped it moving office from upstairs in my house to a downstairs room and too costly to have repaired.

Your hard drive is likely your system bottleneck. You would benefit more from upgrading to an ssd than any other upgrade you could possibly do. You do not need an i7.

You might have a program running in the background that is slowing everything down. This could be because of a large amount of adware on the system, large amounts of startup programs/services, or even your antivirus trying to provide 'active' protection.

A quick way to check would be to press, CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to open 'Task Manager" simple find the 'Processes' tab and arrange the list by 'Disk". Hopefully there should be nothing standing out here and using too much resources.
