How can I stop the CPU maxing out when using Skype??

are you doing video/audio? That's a pretty old netbook with only 1GB of ram and an Atom processor. Phones today are more powerful than it.

Well, the netbook wasorking fine with Skype for a year, then some sort of virus got in, and even after re installing everything, it skips, freezes and squeeks during Skype calls. Yes, video calls.
Any idea why the CPU is constantly at 100%!!
