I just finished installing windows 10 on my HDD that had windows 7 on it. I bought a SSD specifically for an operating system but when I put windows 10 on it is kept asking me for a key that I couldn't find? How can I get windows 10 on my SSD and I am willing to have to re download all of my programs.

Solution
Unfortunately you have to upgrade to windows 10 while windows 7 is on the same drive.

Here's what you need to do.

1. Install windows 7 on the SSD.
2. Activate windows 7.
3. Download the windows media creation tool and run it (don't create media just select "upgrade").
4. Let windows 10 install.

This is all assuming you are upgrading to windows 10 from windows 7, and you didn't buy a new copy of windows 10.

That makes a lot of sense thanks so much, will I have to wait for another reserved windows?

No, windows 10 is a free upgrade for this whole year so you can install it as many times as you want on that PC.
