How can I turn off/switch off the laptop when mouse is not working?

What do you mean? A USB mouse not working when plugged in, or the touchpad isn't working?

Give the laptop's power button a quick press for about 1 second -- that should shut down Windows & turn laptop off (unless the power button has been set up to do something different like put laptop to sleep etc.).


Are you referring to the laptop's touchpad (it's not called a mouse), or an external mouse? If the latter, try a different one.

Does the laptop's keyboard have a 'windows' key and are you using win10? If so:

1. hold down 'windows' key and press x

2 release 'windows' key and press u

3. press u again
