Hey everyone ,

I recently wanted to upgrade our Windstream DSL to their 50 mb package .. They came out and did the wiring and then said I could no longer use my Zyxel 4310 modem which I loved because the connection was now a bonded connection so I settled with their Bonded DSL modem router combo . Well , it's been horrible , constantly dropping connection and speeds etc ... I called and told them I simply wanted the single line connection ( 25 mbs) speed back cause we never had these issues with the single line and Zyxell modem . They can't come out for almost a week and a half . Can I go down to the basement and unbond or seperate the other line from the other so I can continue to just use my Zyxell?

Any help is appreciated

No likely the bonding is done on both ends. You may actually have vdsl which sometime is called bonded even though it technically isn't what is normally called bonding. VDSL uses a completely different type of encoding that adsl. Many times a vdsl modem can downgrade itself to connect to adsl but you can't go the other way around.

If your problem is only wireless you should be able to fix that with any router you have and run it as a AP to replace the wireless in the ISP device. If it has issues on wired connection then tell them to fix it. You are paying money for the faster connection so tell them to make it work. It likely is some issue with the wiring.

Thank you for the information .. Im kinda mad i even upgraded to the two Bonded 25 mb speeds as i was pulling in 35 mbs just off the Zyxel VSG1532 which is VDSL2+ ... I have the Windstream FAST 4320 and we have had this one before the Zyxel . Its slow , the wireless for some reason is very weak .. We have a lot of interference in the hood and the Zyxel just did wonders .. Hopefully after i make a few calls i can get this put back into place until these companies can give us better net
