Hello, I have a HP Pavilion p7-1010 and I'm wanting to upgrade it for video editing purposes. I will be using Sony Vegas Pro 13 and Adobe After Effects. I have 16gb of ram and a 500 watt power supply. I just need to know what type of video card I need for smooth playback of video and to run dual monitors and without spending a lot of money. Any suggestions?? Thanks

Well I think the CPU would be the immediate problem. In terms of GPU anything from a 750ti for lighter stuff, to a r9 380 or higher for mid to high end (ie After Effects). But you'll probably need a new PSU as that one probably won't have PCI-E connectors for the GPU. But as I said, you're not going to be any editing with that CPU, especially After Effects

I have been using to edit video for about a year or so and it works ok the video is just laggy and Render times take a while I didn't know if upgrading the video card and ram would help or not
