Solution
You have a 64bit processor
You have a 32bit OS

You can do a full reinstall of a 64bit OS. Won't make a lot of performance difference, if any .

It's not your hardware, it is the OS.
It is simply a 32bit OS installed.

You have to reinstall the OS with a 64bit version.
Note: this is a full wipe and reinstall. You can't 'upgrade'

You already have a 64 bit processor, so in order to have 64-bit Windows running you need to reinstall a 64-bit version of Windows. There is no need to upgrade your processor to run a 64-bit operating system.

Are you planning on increasing your RAM? If you're not going to do that, then just stick with the 32-bit OS because there's no need to upgrade. One of the benefits of using a 64-bit OS is that you can access more than 4gb of RAM. In your case, you should be able to detect around 3.8 gb of ram with the 32-bit Windows. You won't really see much of a difference with a 64-bit OS. You might actually be better off because 64-bit uses more memory.
