I recently bought a Hp elite 8000 off amazon.ca with these specs : Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz, 4GB DDR3
RAM, 240 watt psu and a 160GB SATA Drive.

I was wondering if i could add a GT 730 DDR3, 64-bit gpu to my system. Would it still work even though it says it needs 300 watts?

It says it needs 300 watts for all three variants, which confuses me because the 128 bit version uses 50 watts and the 64 bits version only uses 23 watts so why are they the same minimum recommended power.

Changing psu is not an option for me by any means.

I also have another question would this setup be able to run games like endless space 2 or minecraft with mods for example pixelmon.

Final question would i be able to switch the case to something more appealing and upgrade-able.

Here are the links to the computer and the gpu

Thx in advance

Upgrading the case would be a waste of time and you will not be able to upgrade that platform anyway without replacing everything. The CPU came out in about 2008/2009. You can look up system requirements for any game you are interested in easily in several places. https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/minecraft/11356 http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=1235&game=Minecraft and also from the game vendor support site.

Any money spend on trying to upgrade the computer should be instead spent on replacing it. You can get an Intel i3 or i5 based system for about $150-200 that will run games pretty well.

Thx but as it was a gift and i have a very low budget so i cannot buy a totally new computer.

I will use the system for some light games or minecraft or something

Do you think that i could use a Low profile single slot Msi GeForce GTX 750ti on it. I know it takes 60 watts its just you were very helpfull last time and i want to get the best gpu i can

If you have a low budget why are you looking to spend money on a case and upgrade this system? Spending money on an out-dated system will just get you a more expensive out-dated system.
