How can I use a SSD at normal speed without the right ports?

I have a rather old HP xw6600 workstation. My problem is that I have a terrible, terrible hard drive, and I want to upgrade to a samsung SSD. However, I don't have SATA II ports for sure, and I might not have SATA ports at all.

My questin is "Is there a way I can get a samsung SSD to somehow work on my machine at little to none performance loss?".
