let me explain first. like many people i have a dish looking up to the sky which is connected to a set top box. from set top box one hdmi cable goes to my tv. using '1 in & 2 out' hdmi splitter i want to feed that signal to my desktop too. so that i can work & tv also runs on a smaller window like pip. how can i feed that signal to my desktop? i will change channels by remote of set top box. i just need tv feed on one of the windows on my desktop. can anyone give any idea? many thanks

If your PC is also HDMI 1080p you could use something like this -- https://www.amazon.com/Revesun-Multi-Viewer-input-output-Switcher/dp/B01D89JEDI

Many thanks. That's a very good suggestion. Let's see whether it is available on Amazon of my country india.
i have found this,
https://www.amazon.in/Orei-Switcher...r+input+output+switcher&qid=1595335489&sr=8-2
&
https://www.amazon.in/Tobo-Multi-vi...r+input+output+switcher&qid=1595335489&sr=8-4

but they do not provide PIP format. i want to work on the main screen and a small in upper rt corner playing news etc. i do not compromise my working space. if needed i can minimize that little window for tv.

I just need a device which will capture signal from set top box and play on a window of my desktop. Vlc is a mighty software, can vlc do it?
I thought it to be simple thing. Will game capture can help?
The problem with PCs is they don't have HDMI inputs. You have to have a port to hook your HDMI into. You can add an HDMI capture card like @Alabalcho suggested in post #3 of this thread. You can use a USB3 device like this -- https://www.amazon.com/LEADNOVO-Converter-Streaming-Broadcasts-Recording/dp/B08BFJS6H6
