When questioning if a video card will work with your system setup, the primary 3 things you'll need are:

1. Motherboard slot type/availability. IE: PCI-Express 1.0, 2.0, or 2.1, and how many slots you have open
2. Power Supply. IE: How much wattage you have to spare, how much amperage across the 12v rails, and how many spare power connectors and what types. Underpowering can lead to weird graphical errors, crashing, and is very bad for your video card and PSU together.
3. Space and adequate cooling. IE: If the card is 10" long, and you have a small case, it might not fit or it might not get the adequate cooling it needs. Bad cooling can lead to decreased performance, crashing, and overheating.

I have the M2N-E Motherboard (I am not sure what info to give you so I will give it all to you)

Socket AM2, NVIDIA nForce 570-ULTRA, HT2000 MT/s Dual=Ch. DDR2 800, PCI-E x16 slot, Heat-pipe, etc... So it says PCI-E x16? I have the user manual too and the diagram shows 2 PCI Express x1 slots, 2 PCI slots, a PCI Express x 4 slot, and a PCI Express x16 slot if that helps at all.

Oh yeah I am running a 7900GS graphics card, what is the power required for that and would that tell me if I would have enough power for the 5770?

go get a GTX 460. you wont worry about compatible issue. ATI card is pretty suck from compatible point of view

Almost any PSU over 350W should power the 5770, it draws ~110W on maximum load. And if you were able to fit an 7900GS, the 5770 isnt gonna be a problem.

Get a PCIe 2.0 5770 and just plug and play. (well, driver sweep the Nvidia ones out first.)

How do I tell if it is PCIe 2.0? Or are they all 2.0?
