How can you merge an sdcards storage with my internal storage?

I have recently bought a 32 GB sdcard for my android 6.0 phone and I wanting to use it as if I am just upgrading my internal storage. How could I make it so my phone recognises it as internal storage and, for example, downloads apps onto it instead of my phones storage? My phone is rooted it I need to do some methods referring to that.

In your storage menu after mounting an SD card, there should be the option to format "as internal storage"

Where, specifically you do that, will depend on how "vanilla" your Android version is.

There is only the option to 'erase all data' under unmount sdcard.

The SDCard is currently "mounted", you'd be prompted to format as internal storage when you "mount". Guessing you selected another option when you put the SDCard in, or you inserted it prior to an upgrade to Android 6.0?

OH, SORRY. I stated my phone was android 6.0, its 5.0.6 my bad. What could I do on 5.0.6 to make my sd card internal?
