How can you overclock an Intel Pentium 4 with Linux running on it?

I am using a very old Intel Pentium 4 @ 3.2GHz, while using Ubuntu(and Lubuntu) and I can't run anything without some lag? I was suggested to overclock it, but I don't know how!

overlcocking is done through the BIOS. You would probably would be better off just adding a bit more RAM.
