How cheap Upgrade

Hi, just wonder how is the best way to upgrade performance of my Gamind PC
I play games like Europa Universalis 4
Total War series
so games needed strong CPU (i think)


My Spec
Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G3420 @ 3.20GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7970
4.0 GB
Win 10 Pro 64bit
Gigabyte H81M-S2PV
600W PSU

Here is the website for the GA-H81M-S2PV rev. 1.0, rev. 3.0, and rev. 2.0 motherboards. Check which rev you have and then go to "support and downloads/CPU support List". That will tell you what CPUs are supported and what BIOS update (or later) is needed for that CPU to be recognized.

Any of the quad core CPUs should be fine.

You are right. The best thing would be an non-K i5 as your motherboard wouldn't allow overclocking anyway. So, you could go for a 4460 or 4570, either of those would give you a lot more FPS in modern titles. If you have a bit more money, you can actually go for an i7, but that wouldn't make such a significant different as upgrading from the Pentium to an i5.
