How come no single 16GB DDR4 ram Sticks?

I thought that DDR 4 was supposed to double the ram capacity?

Then it seems I will be just fine with my 2 ram slot DDR 3 board with 16GB DDR 3 for the next 10 years?

While I expect we'll see some single sticks available, based on price and logic, I'm not expecting a lot, but never know

GSkill is soon to release their Trident Z line, which will have 2x16GB and 4x16GB sets, and also will be adding to their RJ V line of sticks

I remember when 32MB was thought of to be a good solid amount of RAM for any computer and 64MB was overkill. Dare I say it 128MB was just an obscene amount... For servers only... or maybe scientists and crazy people. 256MB??? WHY?
We're reliving those same numbers all over again but with GB instead of MB tagged onto them. Sign of the times man...

Can you imagine owning a system with a single TB of RAM??? ...oh no way YOUR SICK DUDE! Sick? Nah...
But damn do I feel old! LOL

I know this has been here a while but I remember a friend of mine who spent AUD$750 (or there abouts) to put 8MB, yes, you read that right MB into his 486 machine. What he was going to do with that I have no idea but I suspect he was in league with Pinky and The Brain to take over and rule the world. NT 4.0 Server would install with 24MB but needed 32MB to run.

Now days I do not purchase a machine, laptops included, with anything less than 16GB. VMs do like Mr RAM! My first HDD was 85MB when most others had 52MB. "You'll never fill it", I was told. Now I am forever cleaning out the 1TB spinning rust in my laptop due to it filling up. I hope my new laptop will have a 2TB SSD and 32GB RAM. My cheapie phone has 2,000 times more RAM then my first Personal Computer.
