Hi guys,

First of all here's my pc specs,

intel p4 3.0 Cedar mill
intel DG965WH
Sapphire HD 4870 512mb
Zalman zm750hp (750w)
Kingston 2gb 667mhz ddr2 ram ( two 1 gb sticks)

I got a 19" CRT monitor ( IBM thinkvision ) which can provide 1600 x 1200 max resolution. Currently I'm playing at this resolution and I'm experiencing some performance issues..now I know that CPU is the reason for this so I'm hoping to go for a q6600 cause that's the best option I have with this mobo. I would like to know how the CPU or GPU affects the performance in games at this resolution 1600 x 1200 . Will I be able to get away with good fps with the q6600..

thanks

It will help, but your RAM could be doing with 800Mhz to get the best of a Q6600. A $40 kit will get you 4GB.

Or just grab some LN2 and overclock your current chip to 8.2Gz

Anyway performance is relative to the individual Some people are happy with 30fps and some consider that as a "performance issue".

for me I'm happy with any game if I have good frame rate so the game wont lags.. :)

I'll consider having 800mhz ram with q6600 ..

hey what did you mean by LN2 ? and OC the chip to 8.2 ghz ?? :O

could you plz explain a bit.. thanks
