I switched my pc to a new case, and guess what? My 4 pin cpu cable was about an inch too short. I cut the 4 pin connector off, went and grabbed a few pieces of speaker wire (about the thickness of each individual cable inside of the 4 pin cpu cable), and some wire strippers. I stripped down each side of each speaker wire piece, as well as each piece of the cable connected to the PSU, and each piece of the remaining cable on the 4 pin connector end. I twisted my speaker cable onto each piece of the cpu cable, and twisted it to form a connection. Then, I individually taped up each of the 4 connections with electrical tape, and finally taped up the whole area to make it look decent. I plugged it in, switched on the psu, hit the power button, and the pc booted! I wasn't expecting it to, but it did. And the computer is fully functional. Is this at all dangerous? What is the worst that can happen? Thank you!
