How delicate is the motherboard?

Hello,

I have ordered a ASUS-P8Z77 Deluxe Motherboard in preparation for my build.

I am nervous because of static electricity and breaking off a piece of the motherboard or something.

Can I keep the mother board on a wooden table while I wait to put it in the case and stuff?

Should I wear surgical gloves or does direct contact with the motherboard not matter if I am wearing an anti-static bracelet?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't panic! :) A mobo is not that delicate. Just touch something grounded, before you touch the mobo, like the water tap. The best place to store a mobo is the box it came in. While assembling the cpu cooler, inserting the ram sticks and the graphics card with high pressure, you will see, that your fingers are more delicate. :)

Relax, The board itself is very sturdy, Keep it on its box until your ready. You can wear gloves if you want to as long as they don't get in the way. touching a piece of metal for a second will ground "discharge" you in the rare event you are static. Above all DO NOT worry you will do great, but never force anything if it don't go by hand something is wrong.
