How did I mess up?

Hi i got a computer thas been running very good for a few months until a few days ago when i put in a new Graphics card it booted up without problem but the fans was loud so i tried resetting the cmos by removing battery after putting the cmos battery back in computer wont boot with either new or older Graphics cards that works in other computer.
i verifed ram and psu working in other computer and i tried with Three different cpus

so what did i do to cause this problem? i was very careful installing the new card and resetting cmos. i tried breadbording and it doesnt post so i guess its nothing else to do than to get a new one.
what i wanna know is what the hell happend? i worked with many computers changing parts and im trying to find out what caused it? static electricity? being to rough with cmos battery?

Won't boot to Windows or won't post ? If the former, at BIOS Screen set all BIOS settings to default

should boot even without battery so it's not battery but maybe static electric or you touched some mobo capacitor or circuitry and bend/harmed it without realising or perhaps moved some power connector by mistake? i usually try to not touch mobo with bare hands

By removing battery sata controller mode was reset to it's default value.
If windows was installed with sata controller in other mode than default, then windows would not boot anymore after reset.

Go to BIOS and change sata controller mode to one that was before you removed battery (there are like 3 possible sata controller mode settings).

Did you check all the connections like case headers prior to booting? Chances are good that something got unplugged somewhere.

its not giving any output to screen im pretty sure its <mod edit>, fans spin up and hdd led is on but no post or signal
i get short beep codes maybe 2o in a row then it turns off and starts up again
i checked all Connections im not hundred percent sure its done but 99

did you try to run with 1 ram stick placed? try once for both rams if you have a pair

yeah i tried with one stick in all slots with a few differnt sticks maybe i should try one with lower speed i got 1600 mhz xmp ones maybe i need 1333 mhz after resetting bios?

could be damaged ram slot or PCI-X slot or maybe you could play with some mobo jumpers?

Buying a static wrist band will do absolutely nothing. The motherboard is most likely done for.

No it really doesn't. Static can be a system killer if it's in the right environment. But 9 times out of 10 the cause of fried system components isn't static, it's user error.

Computers are strange mate, It might have been about to die right as you changed the card ! just coincidence !!! either way that motherboard is fried, and we may never know the cause =P

You didn't do anything to damage the CPU socket did you? Because some pins could have been bent somewhere and that could be what causes the CPU to shut down.

i checked the cpu socket no bent pins , im gonna give it one last chance and reinstall my heatsink and backplate
im just trying to find out what happend so i can learn from mistakes and not do it again

i checked error codes one more time when i got no ram in it it gives long beeps when i put the ram back in it gives short fast beeps so i still Think it might have to do with the ram
