Hello, 2 years ago I bought this nice Acer predator helios 300 ph315-52 but it is running out of storage (I bought the 256gb ssd version) so I decided to add a new ssd to it and recently bought this 1tb ssd, the problem is that I just realized I can follow a disassembly tutorial on youtube but I have 0 idea how to manage the storage, I have few games installed on the current SSD (left storage's about 10gb), do I need to move everything to the new SSD that I'm about to install? If so, how do I proceed? And what will the first SSD be for if I do so?

Note that I have 0 knowledge on the matter and cannot go to a tech store at the moment, thanks for the replies in advance

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

All you need to do is just make sure you've got all critical content backed up/stored onto another drive, in case the OS/install goes haywire so you don't loose valuable data. As for the installation process, from what I can see, the laptop has 2 M.2 slots, meaning all you need to do is drop in the second SSD, and button up the laptop. Prior to installing the SSD, I'd highly recommend making sure that the laptop's BIOS is up to date. Then proceed with disassembling the laptop.

Once assembled, fire up the laptop, go into BIOS and see if it's shown there. Boot to OS GUI, open Device Manager then Disk Manager and see if it's there as well. Create one large partition on new SSD then migrate the game files...

Just to add to what @Lutfij has posted (which is excellent), for your games, you may simply need to copy them across or if you use Steam/Origin etc, then you can set up new folders and use the utility in Steam/Origin to transfer your games. It's pretty seamless. Once complete your good to play!

Here's a teardown of your laptop, just in case you need it : How to upgrade Acer Predator Helios 300 Storage - YouTube

Although you've already disassembled, it might be a good resource.

@Lutfij @keith12 Thank you two for the help! I've updated my BIOS in case as you said, yet I've got few questions,
where do I need to look exactly to check if the SSD is here? and how do I boot to OS GUI? How big the partition for the new SSD needs to be?
As I said, I'm veryy not tech navy hehe..
