how do I buy server memory?

I've done some work on consumer desktops and laptops but never worked with servers. I have a dell poweredge t20 that I want to add at least 4 gb (up to 8 gb more).

It already has one OEM stick of 4gb. What's the best way to upgrade, just get another compatible 4 gb stick or is it more critical to get a matching pair in servers?

Also, any recommended ways to shop for it? I imagine Dell doesn't offer the best price. I only know of Crucial as the surefire way to find a compatible pair..

You can use this http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/memory-info?cm_re=top-nav-_-flyout-memory-_-us-memory it will help you determine compatibility ... please check the t20 data sheet and manual , you will usualy find there what RAM you need(RDIMM/UDIMM/ECC) and how much ram it can support
