How Do I Calibrate An LCD - Anything Special For Widescreen?

I just bought a Dell 2005FPW, and I was wondering if anyone know of a website, or software, that would make it easy to calibrate the thing for optimum output.

Other than something with a device, like Colovision.

Well for my CRT I know that Tom's Hardware has a few gradient graphics with which you use to adjust the contrast and brightness to the optimal level.

I was wondering if there's anything specifically for LCDs that walks you through step-by-step in adjusting the monitor's settings to where they should be. Aside from just contrast and brightness. Like color temp., and anything else.

ah right no, my way is just to try out different things and see how they look. everybody has different tastes. i would just make adjustments in the gfx card settings and see what suits.

If your monitor has a sRGB setting, try that to set gray scales. You can also use DisplayMate. You shouldn't need to adjust display timings if you're using a DVI interface and gray scale settings are almost a matter of preference. Just check to see if the gray scales are evenly separated from 0 to 255.
