Question How do I change default resolution for windows 10

So windows 10 recommends a 1024x768 but when I change it to 1680x1050 my monitor says input not supported any help?

You probably need to install the graphics drivers from your graphics manufacturer or from your motherboards homepage.

Please give us your system specs for further help

Re-installing my graphics didn't really work.
CPU: AMD FX8350
GPU: R9 290X
Monitor: 75hz 1680x1050
A little backstory, I installed new ram and for some reason my monitor just stopped working saying "Check signal cable" The cables all worked with different monitors and the monitor worked with a different PC. But then I went to go switch out a monitor and it worked. Hope this helps

So my monitor is a 1680x1050 and on windows it says 1024x768 recommended. Then I switch it higher but I have blackbars
